As a presidential organization, one of Campus Compact's chief goals is to promote the role of presidents and chancellors in advancing civic engagement. These leaders are uniquely positioned to make an impact by speaking publicly about the importance of service, service-learning, and civic engagement and creating policies and structures to advance this work on campus.
Here are a few of the ways presidents can use Campus Compact's resources to advance engaged work on their campuses:
- Sign the Presidents' Declaration on the Civic Responsibility of Higher Education.
- Learn more about the latest policy issues affecting campus engagement.
- Find models of presidential leadership.
- Read about faculty development programs that reward community-based work.
- Nominate faculty and students for our national public service awards.
- Use our service statistics to advocate for the public good of higher education.
- Scan speeches and quotes on engagement to use in your own speaking or writing.
- Find all you need to know about the Carnegie Community Engagement classification.
- Gain insight into the Federal Work-Study community service requirement.
- Connect with PACC's executive director, Char Gray
